The University of Peace in Africa is a special learn and change project that offers and contributes to promotion of Peace through empowerment and qualification of committed local peace builders. UPA is designed and initiated by three civil society organisations witnessing a dynamic North-South and South-South partnership: AMI (Rwanda), APTE (Germany) and CIPCRE (Cameroon). UPA is organised as a full boarding Campus (referring to the pedagogic concept of a ‘summer university’) in a rotative way each year in a different african country following invitation from local Peace initiatives.

UPA is headed by an international Directorate of 3 team members from Cameroon, Rwanda, Germany:
Dr. Jean-Blaise KENMOGNE,Moderator. Laurien NTEZIMANA,Pedagogic Director. Hubert HEINDL,CEO

UPA aims, year by year, to create and reinforce (new) capacities and courageous attitudes of Peace Builders as genuine catalysts in their respective communities and societies.
